File a Petition for Discharge to Close the Estate

After all Assets have been transferred to Heirs and Beneficiaries, and an Administrator or Executor has filed Receipts of Distribution to Probate Court, one final document needs to be submitted before the Estate can be officially closed.

Typically, this is document is known as the Petition of Final Discharge or Ex Parte for Final Discharge and Order and when approved, it's known as known as Judgment of Final Distribution.

Once approved, the Administrator or Executor is released from their responsibilities of administering the Estate.

This is typically the final step in the Probate Court process.
