Negative Coping
Unhealthy behaviors used to avoid or reduce painful feelings resulting from Grief.
Typically, they are short term solutions; temporary numbness that will eventually wear off and not support long-term healing.
These unhealthy behaviors can even cause additional pain because they require constant effort to maintain and will eventually compound over time, making life more difficult than the initial Grief itself.
