Every newspaper publication will have their own process to publish an Obituary or Death Notice.

Typically, a Funeral Director or someone at the Funeral Home will help this process, but an easy way to find out is to search Google for your local newspaper's name with the term "obituaries."

If you are unsure of where to publish, or do not have a local newspaper, other places include but are not limited to:

• Facebook


• Memorization websites


• Religious institution website or newsletter


• Industry publication, website or newsletter


• Civic and activity groups


• National publication

It may be worth posting in multiple publications to reach as much of the deceased's community as possible.

Note: some publishers may require that you submit an Obituary through a Funeral Home.
