Medical Examiner
A licensed Medical Doctor (MD) who conducts examinations of deceased people to determine the cause of death.
Typically, they investigate unusual or suspicious death for which there is no explanation.
Their report provides needed information for scientific or legal purposes (ex: accidents, homicide, suicide, infectious disease, etc).
Sometimes called a Coroner, when this person holds a medical degree.
