Collect Final Wages and Additional Compensation

If the deceased was working at the time of death, contact their employer to collect any final wages, vacation, or sick time payments still outstanding.

Typically, a copy of the Death Certificate will be needed to collect a final paycheck.

Additionally, other employee benefits may be available, including but not limited to:

  • Commission

  • Bonuses

  • Expense reimbursement

  • Pension

  • Group life insurance

  • Retirement funds

  • Stock ownership

  • Medical benefits


Note: state Probate law will dictate how funds are distributed to the deceased, either to a surviving spouse, or to the deceased's Estate.
