Search for Everyday Support Services

It may be challenging for a surviving family to manage everyday life while simultaneously organizing a Funeral, its additional events, all while Grieving.

During these moments, it may help to hire others to support everyday life and run typical day-to-day errands.

Whether the family purchases these services themselves, or asks others to help coordinate, having various service professionals take care of activities can help reduce the burden of a surviving family so they can focus on themselves and the deceased.

Examples of helpful support include, but are not limited to:

  • Shopping

  • Babysitting

  • Cooking

  • Cleaning

  • Laundry

  • Pet care

  • Yardwork

It's not uncommon to feel uncomfortable asking for help, either for fear of burdening others or being so overwhelmed with Grief that it's difficult to organize thoughts.

Know that a supportive community is most likely very happy to help with anything if asked directly, so feel confident in any request and encourage them to also feel comfortable asking or providing things proactively.
